Keyword density is the percentage of times a word or phrase appears relative to the total word count of your content. It is a quick diagnostic: very high density can read as keyword stuffing, while a target term that barely appears may signal thin topical coverage.
Paste your draft and this tool counts single words and multi-word phrases, ranks them by frequency, and shows the density of each so you can write naturally for readers first.
How to analyze your content
- Paste or type the article you want to check into the text box.
- Read the total word count and the ranked list of top terms.
- Switch between single words, two-word and three-word phrases to see how your topic clusters.
- Adjust your draft if any single term is overrepresented, then re-check.
How to read the numbers
| Density | What it usually means | Suggested action |
|---|---|---|
| Under 0.5% | Term barely covered | Add depth if it is your main topic |
| 0.5% – 2.5% | Healthy, natural range | Leave as is |
| 2.5% – 4% | Getting repetitive | Vary wording, add synonyms |
| Over 4% | Risk of keyword stuffing | Rewrite to read naturally |
These bands are rules of thumb, not algorithm rules. Modern search engines reward relevance and readability over exact ratios.
