Resizing changes an image’s pixel dimensions — to fit an avatar slot, meet an upload limit, or stop a camera photo from being needlessly enormous. This tool resizes by exact width and height or by percentage, and can keep the aspect ratio locked so nothing looks stretched.
How to resize an image
- Upload your image; the current dimensions are shown.
- Enter a new width or height, or scale by a percentage.
- Keep lock aspect ratio on to avoid distortion.
- Click Resize and download the result.

Frequently asked questions
Will enlarging an image look good?
Enlarging beyond the original size adds pixels the camera never captured, so it tends to look soft. Downscaling always looks better than upscaling.
What is aspect ratio?
The relationship between width and height. Locking it keeps circles round and faces natural; unlocking lets you stretch to an exact box.
Does resizing also reduce file size?
Usually yes — fewer pixels mean a smaller file. For extra savings, follow up with the Image Compressor.
